A navigation tailored for Pogo

A group of motivated sailors, members of “Plaisance en Cap Sizun” and the Association Internationale Pogo have pooled their passion and know-how to offer a 50-mile circuit around the famous Ile de Sein island, with the bonus of the Raz de Sein!

Why La Ronde Sénane?

Because it is a very tactical race, from a nautical point of view the place is magical. The atmosphere of the race is friendly: all the participants are there the day before. And Audierne is a pleasant and lively harbour where we are welcomed by the inhabitants like kings. And finally, the organization is great!

Sailing around the chaussée de Sein is always an intense and rare moment. The Ronde Sénane gives us the opportunity to go through a book of history, geography, oceanography and many other subjects, which we remember on the way back with a head full of pictures. Audierne, nestled between the green and the blue, where people of the land and the sea meet. Pleasure, competition, conviviality and encounters, an objective reached from the first edition.

The conquest of the west, this is the name that could have been given to the Ronde Sénane. It is difficult to find a wilder and more committed playground to organize a sailing race. It is the place where the land ends (Finistère), after Sein, there is nothing. All the ingredients are there to make this race a great classic. Contrast is striking between the Audierne harbour, which offers a warm shelter, and the course which passes through mythical places, the Pointe du Raz, the chaussée de Sein, Armen…

It is an incredibly magical playground for sailors and a source of beautiful naval jousting for sailors.

I had several times the opportunity to rub shoulders with the Raz de Sein and I admire the fishermen who earn their life there in all weathers. I like the strength and authenticity of the Cape’s maritime landscapes. Sailing along the coast of the Isle of Sein is always a pleasure, especially when the dolphins decide to play in our wake. Sometimes I feel like imitating the seals that bask in the kelp. Audierne, Sainte Evette, Ar Men, Pointe du Raz… Places evocative of small and big stories.

Will he overtake Egregore?

By inviting sailboats to turn the end of the Chaussée de Sein, off the Armen lighthouse, the Ronde Sénane intends not only to pay tribute to the men who allowed its construction and operation, but also hopes to contribute, by drawing everyone’s attention, to the preservation of this exceptional lighthouse.
