New for AIP mapping

I remind you that the AIP mapping has the ambition to place on a map the position of the boats of our association. This map is only available to members.

Navionics maps

The Navionics component that used to display Navionics charts no longer works.
A blessing in disguise perhaps, because the integration into WordPress was incomplete. In the future, we will no doubt be able to use components that are more suitable for smartphones.

Automatic update

We have free access to the positions of boats equipped with a working transponder, as soon as they are received by one of the stations of the AISHub.net network. The AIP station is currently at my home, at the head of Cap Sizun: https://www.aishub.net/stations/3162

For members who have entered the MMSI of their boat in their profile, the position of the boat is updated every 15 minutes. It only works in the network coverage area, which is not yet complete.

As a small detail, users of the Wheater 4D apps on iOS and Sailgrib on Android can, by activating an option, send back to the AISHub.net network the positions of the vessels received by their VHF/AIS. They then act as “mobile stations”. All the data collected by these apps is referenced on the station: https://www.aishub.net/stations/2345

Manual update

Manual updating is still possible: zoom in on the map until you can accurately select the boat’s position, then bring up a dialog box to validate it. On PC, it’s usually right click, on Mac, it’s Ctrl + click and on smartphones a long press.

If the MMSI is entered in the profile, this position will be overwritten when the boat is first detected on the AISHub.net network.

Finally, sorry, small focusing errors led to the deletion of the positions of certain boats…
