NavimetriX: looking back at our 2026 training and ahead to 2027

A day to build our navigation skills
Dear members,
AIP is proud to have organised France’s first NavimetriX training session with Francis Fustier, held in Lorient on 7 February 2026.
The idea began in November 2025, when three members planned to visit Saint-Nazaire to discover this new software, with a view to arranging a training day for around ten members. In the end, 17 members signed up for a day combining focused learning and good company. A record!
Our instructor won everyone over. His professional experience and expertise in Weather4D and NavimetriX were greatly appreciated. After a quick lunch at Lorient’s best kebab shop, it took a little determination to tackle the afternoon session…
We said our goodbyes at around 5 pm, feeling we had accomplished something, learned a great deal and, above all, eager to try this excellent navigation tool aboard our Pogo boats.
What about 2027?
Following this enthusiastic response, the committee will propose a new training date for early 2027 at our Annual General Meeting.
A first introduction or a refresher? The choice is yours!
Warm regards,
The AIP Committee
