Correct alternator belt tension

After changing the sail drive seal on my X-RAY after 17 years of loyal service (three hours of dismantling by two people: first you have to remove the batteries and the entire propeller base, then lift the engine to move it forward in the square; bring the base to the workshop for a complete refit = discovery of molds at the top of the base: Jeff, an outstanding Volvo mechanic, told me that my alternator belt tension was not correct. Really?
Here’s a little tip: use two fingers to turn the tensioned belt in place, and it should not be more than a quarter turn. Simple but effective…
