Hello,
I have a power defect on the Volvo D1 20 of my Pogo 10.50 (which has just over 500 hours). It seems to be due to wear of a disk kit on the 130S-B baseplate, secondary to Volvo’s recommendation of unsuitable oil. The engine has to be dismantled and moved to change the kit. Estimate at €2500. Has anyone ever encountered this problem? I’ve heard it’s a classic. Thanks in advance for your answers.
Sincerely

Hello,
I contacted Volvo (Est Le Pocher, Quimper). Very nice and responsive. Surprised by this so-called wear, I was first advised to change the oil in the baseplate to the now-recommended oil (i.e. classic 15w40 engine oil, not SAE75W90) and give it a try. Having just returned from cruising, I can say that I’ve regained the engine’s usual power. I think we can conclude that the problem was simply the wrong oil for the baseplate. If this info is of any use to others….
Godspeed
Benoit Barrou
