A friendly gathering of Pogos will take place in the Solent, UK, on the weekend of Friday 19 July through Sunday 21 July, 2024. Primarily driven by a few owners who’re keen to have a get together, a friendly day race, and an evening telling tall stories. The event is supported by the AIP – but for logistical reasons (event occurs in UK) it is managed outside the framework of the AIP.

A modest flotilla of Pogos (7 confirmed, 5 possible) from Brittany, UK South Coast, the Channel Islands, Belgium, and even Finland plan to arrive in the Solent on Friday the 19th July.

 

Upon arrival on the 19th, following the immigration formalities, there will be a welcome Apero hosted in a private garden next to the marina.
On Saturday 20th we will have a friendly “rally event”, followed by a prize giving and meal in the Lymington Town Yacht Club premises. We have a race officer organised and an estimate of costs as below:

• Rally registration fee to cover race officer and associated logistics: £35 (€41).
• Mooring fees (£5.25/m), so about £50 per night
• Dinner: 2 course meal for £32 per person

On Sunday 21st, boats will depart to resume their own Summer cruising plans.
